This work begins with an original drawing that is refined and translated into a pattern. Pieces are cut from mild steel or copper with a plasma cutter. The intricate details are inspired by classic paper cut techniques. Vibrantly colored transparent paints are used in some pieces to enhance the reflective qualities of the ground steel surface. Other pieces use the natural black steel color to display the artworks silhouette. All pieces are finished with a clear lacquer.
